Ghoha Hills Safari Lodge – unspoilt African luxury

Perched high on the granite hillside overlooking the Savute area of the western Chobe National Park, Ghoha Hills Savuti Lodge commands panoramic vistas over pristine surrounds. Rough-hewn ground and rocky pathways come from being the only Savute lodge to claim an elevated position, which can be of concern if you have mobility challenges.

And here, you don’t even have to go out to see wildlife: stunning views and a wide range of animals can be spotted from the main area or from your own private deck. Settle down in this tranquil coloured lodge, decorated with soft lounge chairs and natural materials and take full advantage of the location.

Constructed on wooden platforms, eleven luxurious tented suites (two of which are for families) are canvas tents with teak floors and attractive appointments. All tents have en suite facilities and views can be enjoyed even from the shower. Fluffy towels, oversized pillows, eco-friendly guest amenities. Your suite is a personal spa retreat.

Ghoha Hills Safari Lodge being an eco-lodge, there are no plugs or Wi-Fi in the room. But there really is no need for it anyway,  when you can just sit on your private deck and gaze at elephants and giraffes passing by on their way to the waterhole. The secret nook, named the ‘hide’ is a beautiful deck overlooking the waterhole and an active place for animals of every shape and size!

Activities at Ghoha Hills Savuti Lodge

  • 4×4 Game drives
  • Birdwatching
  • Stargazing
  • Communal bonfires

With their authentic African beauty, Botswana’s wildlife in the private concession of the Ghoha Hills and on the famous Savuti channel and marsh is the centre of attraction. Specialised 4×4 vehicles transport safari guests in an open tour of the bush where countless animals roam – including predators like lions and leopards, herds of buffalos and zebra, and a wide variety of bird species.

When the sun goes down, activities change form. Stargazing in the bush is an incredible pastime as the stars illuminate the resting sky. For a touch of warmth and a cosy feel, guests can relax around a prepared bonfire and relax into the morning hours.
