Air Botswana launches new mobile app and WhatsApp customer line

Air Botswana has launched an all-new mobile app and a WhatsApp Customer service line as part of its efforts geared towards enhancing service delivery and customer experience. 

With the introduction of the platforms, mobile phone users are set to enjoy travel-related services including booking, airfares, destinations and Teemane Loyalty Club, the airline said in a statement released on Wednesday. The press release further said customers will also be able to make payments via their cellphones at any time using the mobile app service, which offers  its customers another layer of convenience. 

Android and iOS versions of the app are readily available for download from Google Play and Apple Store, the company said.

Simultaneously, for a personal touch, Air Botswana has also launched a WhatsApp Customer line to further enhance customer engagement to appeal to old and new customers, the release continued. 

The WhatsApp number, +267 77019076 is reachable from within Botswana and outside. The line will be manned from Monday to Friday between 07:30 hours -16:30 hours, and from 09:00 hours-11:00 hours on Saturdays. 

Customers using the WhatsApp service will be able to communicate directly with a service agent on a wide range of travel services including the Air Botswana schedule, bookings and cargo, among others.

Air Botswana Acting General Manager, Masego Mookodi commented; 

“We are excited about these new developments that will significantly improve customer engagement and the airline’s service quality. 

We operate and live in an increasingly digital world, and we are committed to implementing the necessary transformations that will make the airline more competitive and in-touch with its customers”. 

“The new digital platforms will further improve customer experience when flying Air Botswana; from flight bookings to departure and arrival at the desired destinations. 

With the Mobile App and WhatsApp line, it is now easier and quicker to reach the airline’s services, which is critical in achieving the desired service quality. Air Botswana will continue to invest in customer-centric solutions that enhance its operational efficiencies.” 

The Mobile App and WhatsApp platforms are also expected to significantly improve accessibility of the airline’s services at the “click of a button” while on the move. Moreover, Air Botswana hopes the apps will deliver a more personalised and interactive user experience, thereby boost its service delivery, the statement said.
