SKY Girls BW release catchy track, ‘The SKY anthem’

SKY Girls BW is an empowerment brand for girls aged 13-17 across Botswana. It was set up in 2014 and has since distributed over 2 million copies of SKY Magazine to schools across the country and hosted many events with an attendance of up to 2500 girls.

SKY Girls BW recently collaborated with local music legend, DJ Kuchi on the catchy tune, The SKY Anthem. The upbeat trackbrought together some of Botswana’s most talented and popular music stars Dato Seiko, Gaone (a 14-year-old SKY Girl rapper), KhoiSan, Jordan Moozy, Han-C and Charma Gal. The music video was made by Director Mo. The song encourages young SKY Girls to stay true to themselves, become self-confident and resilient, and be the best that they can be, a message that is very much in line with what SKY Girls is all about.

SKY aims to support girls as they navigate their way through life, encouraging them to stay true to themselves and make informed, confident decisions for a better life. SKY believes resilience leads to self-determination. In Botswana, SKY is managed by The Dialogue Group. Channels include a magazine published three times annually, a weekly radio show, social media platforms, events and activations.

SKY Girls BW is run by a passionate team of young women at The Dialogue Group, a 100% citizen-owned communications company. The success of SKY Girls in Botswana has led to spin-offs  of the campaign in four other countries, namely, Ghana, Zambia, Cote d’Ivoire and Kenya.
