Esteemed American travel and restaurant review website, TripAdvisor has added eight Wilderness Safaris camps to its prestigious“Hall of Fame.” The coveted accolade is in recognition of the luxury safari operator consistently receiving outstanding reviews over the past five years. With no fewer than 17 safari camps receiving the coveted TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2019, these achievements affirm the company’s deep commitment to leading the way in authentic and sustainable ecotourism in Africa.

Now in its eighth year, TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence programme celebrates hospitality businesses that consistently achieve exceptional reviews submitted by travellers over the past year; recipients include attractions, restaurants and accommodation located all over the world. To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews, and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.
“This awards programme allows us to publicly recognise businesses that are actively taking into account customer feedback to help travellers confidently experience the most highly reviewed places to eat, stay and explore,” commented Neela Pal, Vice President of Brand, TripAdvisor.
Since the launch of the programme in 2011, Wilderness Safaris camps have repeatedly been recognised in the TripAdvisor Excellence Awards, showcasing the company’s commitment to conserving and restoring Africa’s wilderness and wildlife by creating life-changing journeys and inspiring positive action.
Wilderness Safaris camps awarded the 2019 TripAdvisor Certificates of Excellence include:
- Botswana: Chitabe, Chitabe Lediba, DumaTau, Little Vumbura, Mombo, Vumbura Plains
- Namibia: Damaraland, Desert Rhino, Doro Nawas, Hoanib Skeleton Coast, Kulala Desert Lodge, Little Kulala
- Rwanda: Bisate
- Zambia: Toka Leya
- Zimbabwe: Davison’s, Linkwasha
The following eight camps were honoured with a “Hall of Fame” award after receiving TripAdvisor Certificates of Excellence for at least five years in a row:
