Power Metal Resources said the latest drill hole, DDH1-14C, at its Molopo Farms Complex nickel and platinum project in Botswana, intersected its target of a steeply dipping geophysical superconductor.
Interpreted to be a sulphide mineralised carbonaceous mudstone unit, the geophysical superconductor occurred between 760.5-813m downhole depth and from 828.4m-832.6m (end of drilling) where it remains open, said the statement.
Samples from the intervals will now be sent for certified laboratory multi-element and PGE assay testing.
Power Metal is aiming to establish a district-scale nickel and platinum group element discovery in southwestern Botswana.
Sean Wade, Power Metal’s chief executive, said:
“Target Area 1-14 has been of interest to Power Metal for some time due to the superconductor that was identified by multiple geophysical surveys.
“The previous drill holes completed into this area were unsuccessful in intersecting the targeted conductor, and now, with the completion of this drill hole, we have achieved this objective.
“We now await further updates from the in-country team as they prepare various sections from the interval for laboratory assay testing and will update the market in due course.”
