The latest diamond discovery is a 1080 carat stone, one of the largest stones recovered by Lucara.
Commenting on the Botswana Government Facebook page last week, President Masisi said;
“This makes me so proud because diamonds have contributed significantly to the economy of our country and the development of this nation.
Lucara has made big diamond discoveries in the past such as the 1000 carat Lesedi La Rona stone which put our nation on the International map, truly showcasing us as the biggest diamond producer by value worldwide.”
Lucara Executives paid a courtesy to the office of the president to showcase their latest diamond discovery at Karowe mine. The latest diamond find is 1080 carats, one of the largest stones recovered by Lucara.
High-value diamonds are showcased to the president because the diamonds have, and continue to play a significant role in the development of the country.
