Botswana is often cited as a shining example of democracy not just for Africa but by any standards. What many may not know is that the reason for that is because democracy is a system that is deeply entrenched in our culture and dates far back in time. The basis of Botswana’s democratic ideals is the Kgotla system that to this day is held in very high regard in Botswana.
