Chobe Connect 2026: Unlocking a new era of growth

Chobe Connect 2026 officially commenced today in Kasane, setting a progressive tone for investment, collaboration, and sustainable development in one of Botswana’s most strategic regions. 

The high-level platform brings together key stakeholders across tourism, agribusiness, energy, and infrastructure, positioning Chobe not only as a premier tourism destination, but as a dynamic growth and exchange hub.

Delivering the keynote address, the Vice President of the Republic of Botswana and Minister of Finance, Ndaba Gaolathe, underscored Chobe’s untapped potential for growth. He called on stakeholders to leverage the platform to catalyse investment, accelerate local empowerment, and drive inclusive, sustainable development across the region.

Adding to this vision, the Minister of Environment and Tourism, Honourable Wynter Boipuso Mmolotsi, highlighted the importance of investing in sustainable eco-tourism as a pathway to long-term prosperity. Anchored on Botswana’s natural assets, strategic location, and evolving infrastructure, he positioned Chobe as a compelling destination for both tourism and business. His remarks further reinforced government’s commitment to inclusive growth, inviting investors to align with national priorities through frameworks such as the Botswana Economic Transformation Programme (BETP) and the 10-year Tourism Strategy.

The high-level investment Chobe Connect 2026 conference is set to position Chobe District as a premier regional investment hub. Organised by the Special Economic Zones Authority (SEZA) in partnership with First National Bank Botswana (FNBB), the conference focuses on unlocking opportunities in tourism, agribusiness, energy, and infrastructure development.
