Botswana and China have signed a beef protocol on the sidelines of the ongoing FOCAC meetings. The protocol will grant Botswana beef access to the lucrative China market.
The beef protocol with China represents a strategic partnership conferred on economic, social and agricultural development. According to the International.Relations Minister Dr Phenyo Butale, access to China’s large market can significantly boost Botswana beef industry, enhance export revenues and invigorate local economies.
The protocol allows Botswana to diversify its export mark, reducing reliance on traditional markets and mitigating risks from demand fluctuating due to geopolitical tensions.
The protocol also deepens diplomatic ties between Botswana and China, fostering a multifaceted partnership with significant long term benefits.
