Botswana death metal band, Overthrust, has announced its upcoming 2025 tour to the United Kingdom and Europe. In a press statement, the band said the tour marks a significant milestone for them, an opportunity to share their music on an international stage and represent the African metal community abroad.
“However, international touring comes with substantial financial challenges, especially for independent bands like ours. Visa applications, travel arrangements, accommodation, and merchandise production all require considerable funding.
We are reaching out to our community for support to help make this tour possible,” the band stated in the statement.
Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to realising this dream. As a gesture of gratitude, all supporters who contribute €35 or more will receive an exclusive Overthrust Supporter Shirt, specially designed and produced for this campaign. Even if you’re unable to contribute financially, sharing this campaign or attending one of our shows means the world to us, the statement continues.
What we’re creating and why it matters
This tour is not only an opportunity to promote our music, but also a chance to represent African metal culture on a global platform. As artists from Botswana, we feel it is important to challenge perceptions, build cross-cultural connections, and show that metal transcends borders, Overthrust states.
