Tourism and investment authorities have launched a diplomatic and commercial roadshow in Gaborone, aiming to deepen regional integration and boost cross-border trade, investment, and travel.

The multi-agency delegation includes the Namibia Tourism Board (NTB), the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB), and the Namibian High Commission to Botswana. Together, they are positioning Namibia as both a premier African travel destination and a stable, high-growth hub for regional capital.

The initiative kicked off with the “Unlocking Investment Opportunities in Namibia” business forum, which brought together regional business leaders, diplomats, and investors to highlight Namibia’s favourable business climate, tax incentives, and streamlined regulatory frameworks.

“Botswana remains an important regional partner for Namibia,” said NTB Chief Executive Officer, Sebulon Chicalu.

“Through engagements such as these, we continue to strengthen tourism and business relationships that create mutual opportunities for growth, encourage cross-border travel, and position Southern Africa as a competitive multi-destination region.”

Chicalu said that the engagements are expected to deepen bilateral cooperation, strengthen tourism trade relationships, promote investment opportunities, and support regional integration while increasing visitor flows between the two countries.

“The NTB remains committed to working with strategic partners across the region to advance sustainable tourism growth, unlock new business opportunities and position Namibia as one of Africa’s leading tourism and investment destinations,” he concluded.
