Botswana inflation rate softens to 3.8% in November

Botswana’s annual inflation rate was at 3.8% in November 2025, just below a 13-month high of 3.9% in the prior month.

Prices slowed down for some CPI categories, primarily transportation (5.6% vs 6.2% in October); recreation & culture (0.6% vs 1.3%) and health (2.3% vs 2.6%).

At the same time, food price growth stood at 5.5%, matching October’s reading; while prices continued to fall for housing & utilities (-3% vs -3.1%).

Notable increases were seen for alcoholic beverages & tobacco (10% vs 9.8%) and miscellaneous goods & services (8.8% vs 8.4%).

On a monthly basis, the CPI was flat in November, after a 0.3% increase in the previous month.Botswana Inflation Rate
