South African scaffolding and formwork specialists Uni-span is playing a pivotal role in one of Botswana’s biggest infrastructureprojects – a 30-m-high, 140-m-wide dome-shaped coalstorage facility at the Morupule B Power Station.

The dome will help stabilise Botswana’s power supply by keeping coal dry, ensuring more efficient energy production and supporting national energy security.

Working alongside Mendel Welding Engineering and Sky Bridge Engineering, Uni-span provided over 90 access towers, some as high as the dome itself to support the safe and accurate installation of the steel frame.

By making it possible to build transformative energy infrastructures like this, Uni-span says it is not only supporting Botswana’s development but also driving progress across the continent.
