Botswana copper hunt delivers multiple drill targets for Si6

Si6 Metals has reportedly identified numerous targets for drill testing along three newly confirmed geophysical anomalies at its Airstrip copper-silver prospect in Botswana. The company is now eyeing up a drilling campaign to test the targets, including one anomaly said to be about 2.5km long at depth. Historical drill hits at Airstrip include an eye-catching 8m at 10.39% copper and 630 grams per tonne silver from 52m.

Si6 has been conducting geophysical surveys aiming to define deeper sulphide mineralisation for drill testing at the 60% owned Dibete, Airstrip and Maibele North prospects at its Maibele tenure. Only last week, the company announced a 2.5km-long geophysical anomaly at Dibete, about 4 km from Airstrip. The drill targets at Airstrip come on the back of pole-dipole induced polarisation surveys adding to interpretations from gradient array surveys that defined the anomalies earlier in the year. Management says the three anomalies all generated strong

pole-dipole responses and warrant drill testing.

Curiously, the 2.5km anomaly lies along strike to historical copper and silver intercepts at Airstrip, in addition to the nearby Maibele North deposit. Both Airstrip and Maibele North are located along a 16 km mineralised trend.

Maibele North already boasts a maiden 2.38 million tonne resource going at 0.72% nickel, 0.21% copper, 0.08 g/t platinum and 0.36 g/t palladium. Other historical hits at Airstrip include 8m at 1.71% copper and 51 g/t silver from 159m, together with 18m at 1.72% copper and 27.5 g/t silver from 42m.

Si6 believes there is strong potential for new discoveries and mineralisation at depth at Airstrip. Further pole-dipole surveys at wider spacing may be on the cards to generate deeper targets and extend strike of the anomalies.

“Our ongoing programme in Botswana is proving to be a great success with current surveys having now highlighted two 2.5km anomalies at Dibete and Airstrip.

There are some great target areas along strike of the known mineralisation, demonstrating strong potential for deep-seated mineralisation which warrant further exploration and as such, the company will be planning for reverse circulation and diamond drilling programs,” said Si6 Executive Chairman Patrick Holywell

Results from an audio magnetotelluric survey looking to extend the mineralisation at Maibele North at depth and along strike remains pending. The company has commenced discussions with in-country drilling companies as it looks to test the geophysical targets.
