Sidilega Private Hospital officially opens

Sidilega Private Hospital, the first 100% citizen-owned medical care facility was officially opened this Thursday.

The facilities and services at Sidilega – located in Block 7, Gaborone – will  include ambulatory care, diagnostics and therapeutic care services with a focus on preventive care. The 110-bed, 4-storey hospital is built to accommodate the facilities. Sidilega Private Hospital aims to address Botswana’s healthcare demands and is well equipped to handle patients from neighbouring SADC countries (a consumer base of approximately 230m people, according to the of Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Bogolo Kenewendo).

This Hospital will assist in the reduction of referrals outside the country. It will enhance Botswana’s economic standing, and as such, the country can compete with other countries, the minister said. It will contribute significantly to the creation of jobs as well as skills development to the local economy and regional markets, Kenewendo asserted.
