The Ministry of International Affairs and Cooperation wishes to inform the public that His Excellency the President has redeployed and appointed new envoys as follows –
Ambassador Bruce Palai has been redeployed as Botswana’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China (Beijing). Prior to his redeployment, Ambassador Palai served as Botswana’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva, as well as Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Switzerland for a period of six years.
Dr Athalia Molokomme has been appointed as Botswana’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva, as well as Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Switzerland. Dr Molokomme has vast knowledge and experience in law, government, academics and the non – governmental sector. Prior to her appointment, she was Attorney General for eleven years.
Mr Nkoloi Nkoloi has been appointed Botswana’s Ambassador to Japan (Tokyo). Mr Nkoloi is a career diplomat who has served in a variety of positions, including as Private Secretary to the President and most recently, as Deputy Ambassador to the United Nations Office in New York for five years.
The envoys will take up their appointments in May.
